Dear friends,

 In December 2011, at the initiative of this Embassy, the “CEPS – Conselho Empresarial Português de Singapura” was launched.

 CEPS was established as an informal consultative forum with the aim of creating a business network between Portuguese companies and executives based in Singapore, with an eye towards facilitating business opportunities and promoting Portuguese economic interests in this country.

 After two years of relentless activity, it was decided to take a new step towards reinforcing its presence and scope.

 As such, since the beginning of 2014, CEPS gave way to a new entity, the “Portuguese Business Society – Singapore”, a formal structure, legally constituted and registered.

 This new entity has been given new instruments and capabilities designed to carry through a much more robust and effective mandate.

 I’m very confident that its management, under the leadership of Mr. Gil de Botton, Regional Representative of Logoplaste, will show decisive commitment towards expanding and reinforcing its activities and its overall influence in such a competitive market as Singapore.

 The future of our bilateral economic relations will undoubtedly benefit from the strength and, ultimately, the performance of the Portuguese Business Society - Singapore.

 Thus, I wish to congratulate all those participating in this endeavour and convey my best wishes of unfettered success.
